MISSION

Advancing the art and science of medicine through

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Academy as set out in the Memorandum of Association are as follows:

1. to advance the art and science of medicine;
   
   
2. to promote study and research into medical and scientific problems;
   
   
3. to sustain and foster postgraduate education;
   
   
4. to conduct higher professional examinations and to award diplomas;
   
   
5. to grant specialist certification to persons who have fulfilled the criteria laid down;
   
   
6. to maintain and promote the highest standards of professional practice;
   
   
7. to maintain a high code of ethical conduct amongst its members;
   
   
8. to represent, express and give effect to the views and opinions of its members;
   
   
9. to enter into any arrangements with Government or any other authority that may seem conducive to the Company's objects, or any of them; and to obtain from such Government or authority any rights, privileges, and concessions which the Company may think desirable to obtain, and to carry out, exercise, and comply with any such arrangements, rights, privileges and concessions;
   
   
10. to protect the interest and dignity of the Academy of Medicine.
