Event Description

Under the auspice of the College of Surgeons of Singapore in collaboration with the Department of Anatomy, YLL School of Medicine, NUS, we will be running the second Surgical Cadaver Course in August 2018.

This is an advanced hands-on general surgery dissection course using fresh frozen cadavers with soft or fixed specimens. Although there will be mini-lectures, the emphasis will be on hands on dissection. The fresh frozen cadavers are sourced locally from the 'Silent Mentor Program' under the leadership of A/Prof Ng Yee Kong & Samuel Tay Sam Wah (Department of Anatomy). As they have wished that this collaborative project will benefit surgeons in training (who will serve the population ultimately), the invitation is extended to all trainees island wide.

The workshop will be led by experienced surgeons with mini lectures. The course is suitable for surgery trainees. Priority will be given to surgery residents in training. However, anyone (practicing surgeons and non-career grade doctors) wishing to refresh his/her anatomy relevant to general surgery is welcome to apply.

To maximize learning, there will be a high teaching faculty to student ratio.

Registration fee: $400 per person per day.
