Event Description

Under the auspice of the College of Surgeons of Singapore in collaboration with the Department of Anatomy, YLL School of Medicine, NUS, we will be running the third Surgical Anatomy Course for General Surgery Residents in July 2019.

This is an advanced hands-on general surgery dissection course led by experienced surgeons, using high fidelity, fresh frozen cadavers. Although there will be mini-lectures, the emphasis will be on hands on dissection.

The fresh frozen cadavers are sourced locally from the 'Silent Mentor Program' under the leadership of A/Prof Ng Yee Kong & Samuel Tay Sam Wah (Department of Anatomy). As they have wished that this collaborative project will benefit surgeons in training (who will serve the population ultimately), the invitation is extended to all trainees island wide.

Date: 5 & 6 July 2019 (Friday & Saturday)
Venue: Dissection Hall, Department of Anatomy, MD 10, NUS
Time: 0800- 1800 hr
Registration includes lunch & tea breaks

The course is suitable for general surgery trainees. Priority will be given to general surgery residents in training. However, anyone (practicing surgeons and non-career grade doctors) wishing to refresh his/her anatomy relevant to general surgery is welcome to apply.

To maximize learning, there will be a high teaching faculty to student ratio. Please register quickly as there are limited spots.

Registration fee: $1000 nett.
