ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MASTER-ELECT 2017
ACADEMY OF MEDICINE, SINGAPORE
As at closing time on 30 June 2017, 1700 hours, only one nomination was received for the post of Master-Elect.
Candidate: DR S R E SAYAMPANATHAN
Proposer: Dr Teo Eng Kiong
Seconder: Dr Chew Chin Hin
According to Article 64 of the Academy’s Memorandum & Articles of Association:
“In the event the Incumbent Master is duly re-elected as Master-Elect, the Incumbent Master shall serve and complete the Master-Elect term concurrently as the Incumbent Master and shall immediately assume his second term as the Master on the completion of his first term of two years. Following the completion of his second term as the Master, the Master shall then take office as the Immediate Past Master for one year and retire from the Council thereafter.”
I am pleased to announce that Dr S R E Sayampanathan will serve as Master-Elect for 2017-2018 concurrently in his second year as Master, and thereafter continue to lead in his second term as the Master of the Academy (2018-2020).
