The theme of the Congress is The New Reality in Medicine - Caring for Patients with Multiple Co Morbidities. Dr Wong Kok Seng, Organising Chairman of the congresses highlighted, “With our aging population and advances in medical technology, we are seeing more medically complex patients who will relentlessly challenge our abilities to deliver holistic care. When these patients seek our expertise in our area of specialisation, they often come with various other co-morbidities. It remains a challenge to know which patients require input from other specialists, how urgently those inputs should be obtained and what steps should be taken while awaiting review.”
This congress will provide an excellent opportunity for specialists to relearn clinical medicine from their fellow colleagues. The presence of outstanding Academicians locally and those from Malaysia and Hong Kong will enrich the scientific programme and provide a wonderful opportunity to exchange views and see how counterparts from Malaysia and Hong Kong deal with the various medical issues confronting them.
