OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE ACADEMY OF MEDICINE, SINGAPORE
AMS Council welcomes MOH statement that MOH has asked Singapore Medical Council (SMC) to get Dr Lim Lian Arn's case reviewed in court.
The Academy and Colleges Councils have engaged MOH and SMC over separate meetings and engagements, addressing the impact the precedent will have on the amount of information medical practitioners will need to share with their patients and the practice of defensive medicine.
AMS will be happy to assist or contribute to any further developments. As always, we will continue to work with the authorities in setting standards in the medical practice. We remain committed in guiding and educating the profession, and helping to foster a sustainable environment for the practice of medicine.
