The Ministry of Law (“MinLaw”), in consultation with relevant Ministries and agencies, has further extended the duration of legislation that enables entities to hold meetings via electronic means, beyond 30 June 2021. This refers to the various Orders issued pursuant to Section 27 of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020 that prescribe the alternative arrangements for the conduct of meetings. The Orders will now continue to be in force until revoked or amended by MinLaw. This will provide entities with greater legal certainty to plan their meetings, and the option to hold virtual meetings to minimise physical interactions, amid the COVID-19 situation.
The Constitution of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore does not provide for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be conducted by electronic means. With this provision and under the current COVID-19 situation, the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore will hold its 17th Annual General Meeting on 19 August 2021 (Thursday), 5:30 pm by electronic means to transact the businesses as set out in the agenda. To promote healthy lifestyle habits during their formative years, a structured and comprehensive approach is needed. This approach has been outlined in The Singapore Integrated 24-Hour Activity Guidelines for Children and Adolescents. The objective is to provide guidance to encourage Singaporean children and adolescents to adopt a holistic approach towards integrating all types of activity within a daily 24-hour period. These activities (including light, moderate and vigorous physical activity, sedentary behaviour, sleep and eating activity) are closely inter-related in terms of health benefits and time consumption.
