Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet is specialized in the repair of joints and ligaments after sport trauma. Dr Sonnery-Cottet will be presenting the findings of 2 clinical research studies, on 1. Anterolateral Ligament Reconstruction and 2. Epidemiological Evaluation of Meniscal Ramp Lesions respectively.

Perioperative Nutrition: Enhancing Patient Recovery from Surgery

Professor Philip Calder will be sharing the evidence based research on Omega-3 acids and its influence on health outcomes in inflammatory diseases, surgical ICU and the effects of immunonutrition in different types of surgery.

Dr. Thomas Coon is an orthopedic surgeon in Saint Helena, California and is affiliated with St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Coon accepts several types of health insurance, listed below. He is one of 8 doctors at St. Helena Hospital Napa Valley who specialize in Orthopedic Surgery. 

Dr Coon will be sharing his journey in robotic-arm assisted surgeries. 

This course is designed for orthopaedic surgical trainees who wishes to acquire and/or enhance their knee management and intervention skills. The curriculum includes both lectures and practical sessions.

The 3rd Singapore Plastic Aesthetic Surgery Meeting (PASM) that will be held in conjunction with the Taiwan-Singapore-Thailand (TST) Plastic Surgery Conference at the brand-new Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine from 30 August to 1 September 2018.

This is an advanced hands-on general surgery dissection course using fresh frozen cadavers with soft or fixed specimens. Although there will be mini-lectures, the emphasis will be on hands on dissection. The fresh frozen cadavers are sourced locally from the 'Silent Mentor Program' This collaborative project is designed to benefit surgeons in training (who will serve the population ultimately) island wide.

This course is designed for orthopaedic surgical trainees who wishes to acquire and/or enhance their hip fracture management and intervention skills. The currculum includes both lectures and practical sessions.

This course prepares candidates taking the FRCS exit examination conducted by the JCST. The course is open to all HST (HK) & senior residents (Singapore) on a first come first serve basis. As registration is limited, priority may be given to those sitting for the exam in the next 12 months. 

Closing Date for Registration is 5pm on 25 May 2018 (Friday). 

The course programme will be made available in mid June. 

Learning Objectives
This course course aims to help participants to:
• Gain knowledge of advanced laparoscopic surgical principles and techniques
• Develop control and efficiency in suturing in various situations
• Develop confidence in lap suturing
• Increase proficiency in handling of needles
• Learn about the benefits of the design behind appropriate instruments and sutures used in lapsuturing

Target Audience
This course is open to all doctors who are interested in Laparoscopic Suturing.

Aortic Asia is a multi specialty platform for specialists in Asia treating patients with aortic disease. In addition to highlighting advances in endovascular and open aortic surgical interventions, our theme this year will be on collaboration in order to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. 

The format of the meeting will include plenary lectures, case discussions, moderated panel discussion, practical tips and problem solving. We hope that new collaborations and continued innovation will improve the outcomes for our patients with aortic disease.
