College of Physicians Lecture

 

This is an annual Lectureship during the Annual Scientific Meeting of the College of Physicians, Singapore.

 

The Lecture is open to distinguished members of the medical profession by invitation (local as well as overseas). Distinguished members of allied medical disciplines can be invited from time to time but the lecture given must be medical in content. Invitation of non-medical professionals should not be more than once in 5 years.

 

Nominations for this Lecture will be invited from members of the College of Physicians, Singapore six (6) months before the date of the Annual Scientific Meeting. The College Council will study the nominations, and make final decisions to accept or reject the nomination.

 

The recipient of this award will be presented with a gold medal and a certificate.

 

The College reserves the right to publish the College of Physicians Lecture in full in the College Proceeding or the Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Seah Cheng Siang Memorial Lecture

 

This is an annual Lecture held in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting of the College of Physicians, Singapore.

 

The Lecture is open to distinguished members of the medical profession by invitation (local as well as overseas). The subject offered for the Lecturer must be scientific in content and be in the field of Internal Medicine. The Lecture should be on a Gastroenterology subject at least once in three years.

 

Nominations for this Lecture will be invited from members of the College of Physicians, Singapore six (6) months before the date of the Annual Scientific Meeting. The College of Physicians, Singapore Council will study and approve the nominations. The name of the Lecturer will be announced before the Annual Scientific Meeting of the College of Physicians, Singapore.

 

The honorarium for the Lecture will be S$2000 and the Lecturer will be presented with a plaque. In addition, a business-class return air passage and accomodation for the Lecturer during his stay throughout the duration of the Annual Scientific Meeting will be paid for by the College of Physicians, Singapore

The Monteiro Lecture

 

This is a biennial Lectureship awarded by the Chapter of Infectious Disease Physicians, College of Physicians, Singapore.

 

The Lecture is open to all distinguished members of the professional community by invitation (local as well as overseas). 

 

Nominations for this Lecture will be invited from Fellows of the Chapter of Infectious Disease Physicians, College of Physicians, Singapore at least three (3) months before the date of the delivery of the Lecture. The Chapter of Infectious Disease Physicians Board or a Selection Committee which comprises 2 Fellows of the Chapter and 1 member of the Society for Infectious Diseases (Singapore) appointed by the Board will make the selection and the Council of the College of Physicians, Singapore will make the final approval.

 

The topic will be of relevance to infectious diseases, microbiology, epidemiology or public health. The recipient of this award will be presented with a gold medal funded by the Society for Infectious Diseases (Singapore) for a term of 10 years commencing from year 2012.
