Dear Fellows and Members
The André Wansaicheong Lectureship was established through a generous gift from the estate of the late Dr André Wansaicheong.
André passed away on 4 May 2020. He was a National University of Singapore (NUS) alumnus [MBBS ’88, MMed (Public Health) ’94], and was awarded the University-level Tye Cho Yook Gold Medal for his top performance in the MMed (Public Health) programme. He had previously worked at the Ministry of Health's Training & Health Education Department (current Health Promotion Board), Ministry of Health Headquarters, A*STAR, and was serving as the Research Director at NUS’s Office of the Deputy President (Research & Technology) at the time of his passing. André received the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2019 for his significant contributions to Singapore.
The André Wansaicheong Lectureship seeks to advance the practice of public health and occupational medicine, while perpetuating the memory of a distinguished Public Health Physician and Academician who dedicated much of his professional life in the service of public health. The Lectureship will be delivered during the flagship Singapore Public Health & Occupational Medicine (PHOM) Conference of the Academy of Medicine Singapore’s College of Public Health & Occupational Physicians (CPHOP) that is held annually, and will cover topics relevant to the advancement of public health or occupational medicine for Singapore and the region.
In view of the dollar-for-dollar Government matching by the Bicentennial Community Fund (BCF) until 31 December 2020, the Councils of the Academy and CPHOP would like to take this opportunity to invite additional donations in support of the André Wansaicheong Lectureship and further its cause.
Donors will also be able to enjoy 250% tax deduction for donation made to IPCs. You may fill up the Donation Form available in the link below or simply email the CPHOP Secretariat at phom@ams.edu.sg.
