The Singapore Medical Association (SMA) and Academy of Medicine, Singapore (AMS) have recently written to the Monetary Authority of Singapore on Integrated Shield Plans. In the joint letter,  key concerns and recommendations were highlighted to ensure that the interests of the public and policyholders are adequately protected.

As announced by the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) on 1 June 2022, the Academy of Medicine Singapore, College of Family Physicians Singapore, and Singapore Medical Association (“the Professional Bodies”) have jointly established a support programme for doctors who face disciplinary proceedings with effect from 1 June 2022.  The Screening Test Review Committee (STRC), under the Academy of Medicine Singapore, reviews and makes recommendations on the appropriate use of specific screening tests based on prevailing scientific evidence. The STRC Guidelines 2019, updated from the previous version in 2011, has been published and can be found here.
