The F Y Khoo Lectureship

Dr Khoo Fun Yong is well recognized as the ‘Father’ of Radiology in Singapore. He was the first local radiologist to head the Department of Radiology at the Singapore General Hospital. During his long and illustrious career, he has trained numerous radiologists, many of whom have been or are in leadership positions today. To honour Dr Khoo for his numerous achievements and the influence he has had on radiology in Singapore, the College of Radiologists, Singapore, in conjunction with the Singapore Radiological Society, has decided to establish the F Y Khoo Lectureship.

 

The lecture will be held annually and delivered during the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS) and the College of Radiologists, Singapore (CRS). The topic of the lecture must be of professional, academic or scientific content that is related to Radiology. The lecturer must preferably be a prominent local member of the radiological community, although an overseas lecturer can be appointed every 3 years.

Yahya Cohen Memorial Lectureship

In recognition of the outstanding contributions to the development of surgery in Singapore by Dr Yahya Cohen, the 1st Chairman of the Chapter of Surgeons and a past Master of the Academy, the 1994 Chapter of Surgeons has decided to establish the Yahya Cohen Memorial Lecture in his honour.

 

The award of the Lectureship shall be given for academic excellence and be given to the main author, who must be the First Author or the principal investigator, of the best scientific paper published in the 24 month period ending 31 st December of the preceding year, as judged by a panel appointed by the College.

 

The Lectureship will be presented annually and the lecture will take place at an event or activity organized by the College of Surgeons, Singapore. Only Fellows of the College of Surgeons are eligible for the Lectureship.
